Are you ready for an intimate backyard wedding that will have you ready to scratch all your plans and toss flower petals?

Haylie and Ramon met on Tinder, but then they discovered that they grew up next to each other. Ramon knew Haylie‘s siblings very well… What a great stamp of approval! They prioritized a small, intimate wedding. It was important to them to plan a day that was very relaxed and provided a good experience for their family.

In order to do that they structured the intimate wedding day around being with family. Halle got ready for the wedding at her brother’s house which was the perfect set up for lots of snacks and comfort! This was the first time I’ve worked with Lasting Looks but they were amazing to work with and I would recommend them to brides! They did a gorgeous flower braid in her hair which looked so effortless and yet so formal. I also always recommend Elyssa Anderson, who I work with on a weekly basis.

Getting ready photos started at 8am so that we would be ready for the first look at 10am! We went to a separate park away from family and wedding chaos so that they could have a very private first look. I always recommend doing a first look before the ceremony because it allows the groom to actually react to the bride…if all of your family and friends are staring at you in the confines of yoru ceremony he won’t have the option to exclaim, “Holy **** you look amazing!” (True story, that’s a direct quote from one of my grooms!)

The first look was one of my favorite parts of the entire day! Ramon’s face when he saw her was priceless and he simply showered her with praise. Rightly so! Haylie wore a gorgeous dress from Versailles Atelier Bridal. It had an open corset bodice with beaded lace on top of a layer of sparkles (go back and look at the pictures of the ring…we photographed the ring on top of the sparkly fabric on her skirt!) It’s gorgeous! I love being a Utah wedding photographer because the other vendors are amazing. Versailles is one of my favorite dress salons in the Utah wedding market, and I always recommend them!

The intimate backyard wedding ceremony was held in Ramon’s mother’s backyard in Utah County. She did an amazing job curating the perfect greenery and cultivating a garden space for this event. The ceremony was perfectly timed with glowy sunlight. Ramon‘s brother even flew all the way from Korea to officiate the wedding!

As a couple walks down the aisle family and friends tossed white rose petals. That is one of my favorite moments of every wedding… Flower petals raining down on a newlywed couple just seems to capture the grins and joy of the wedding day! …and it is a fun way for your guests to participate in the excitement.

The rest of the evening was a party!

Haylie and Ramon, I hope you love the photos as much as I did!
